Chicken of the Sea Tuna Recall

Chicken of the Sea recalls 5-ounce cans of oil-packed and water-packed tuna

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced today the voluntary recall of select 5-ounce cans of Chicken of the Sea tuna due to insufficient cooking.
The products include those packed in water and those packed in oil.
The product was undercooked due to an equipment malfunction discovered during routine inspection. Spoilage organisms or pathogens that could lead to life-threatening illness if ingested is the reason for the recall, although no reported illnesses have been made to this date.
The products were sold at retailers nationwide in single cans Feb. 18-March 16.

Consumers can return the products to the store where purchased for a full refund or call 1-866-600-2681 for more information.
